Grace upon grace.
从他丰满的恩典里我们都领受了、而且恩上加恩。约翰福音1:16
For from his fullness
we have all received, grace upon grace. John 1:16
Friday morning during
devotion, I received an SMS that an ex-colleague has passed away. For a moment
I was like, I had so many things to do, thought that I could use Friday night
to rest. But I know I have to be
there.
Mr. Bruce Tan, my
ex-colleague passed away. He has a daughter, a beloved wife. The few of us,
Bruce, Stanley, Vonvon, Terrence and Adeline will gather for tea at times. It
was a fun sight, watching Bruce and Stanley played fighting. They really
punched each other real hard. I guessed me and Vonvon will miss that sight
most.
At 8plus at night, we
reached your wake. And your wife came to our table and shared. She shared about
how they knew the news. How you have coped with the treatment. Throughout the
treatment, you were cheerful. You kept a lot to yourself so that people will
not worry for you. You had never throw a tantrum at your wife, or complaining
that she couldn’t company you to kimo therapy. In June, at your last breathe,
you took your daughter to legoland, you took your wife out for a date, you
cooked for your friends. Throughout, your wife repeated, God is good, God is
gracious, and it was grace upon grace. God gives time for the family to accept.
God did not give more to you than you could accept.
Sitting there, I was
amazed by how much faith this lady has. She was amazing. She believed in heaven,
she believed in God. She believed that God has the best plan for Bruce and her
family.
Grace upon grace. 恩上加恩。
That is a woman of faith. And a man who had ran
the race well. Instead of saying goodbye, we will say.. see you in heaven!
